"for their project 'fresh fonts'the dutch collective autobahn drew the typeface helvetica using toothpaste, tomato ketchup and hair gel. they then used these experiments to create the digital typefaces 'heldentica' , 'tomatica' and 'gelvetica', which you can now download for free from autobahn's site."

la di da da FMP

FMP at lcc! whoooooo last project!

so heres the facts...... this will be my last project on the FDA course at london college of communication as excited as i am i know i have a hell of a month abit to go! so heres the Project Overview:

Your final FdA project is opportunity for you to choose, examine and push the limits with one of the basic graphic communication formats that you will, hopefully, spend your career working with.
It’s also an opportunity to finish the course with a great portfolio piece that will be exhibited in the FdA end of year show. What you produce should be something that people will look at and go,‘Wow!’

sounds simple huh? not really!

what's the Message
The message you are asked to visually communicate is how creative and innovative you can be with your chosen format, how the format can be used and applied in new ways and showing and using the most ambitious and appropriate range of skills and processes to achieve this.

The Content
The actual content is up to you to define. It must be something about the format itself however, historical facts or technical information for example. It should be interesting to the target audience and be based on your research and enquiry into your chosen format.

The Client
The client is yourself – this project should allow you to undertake something that you’ve always wanted to do and learn about a certain format.

Who is the Target Audience
The intended target audience is the design industry and the people who will be attending the end of year show in the FdA studio. It is also the people you will be showing your portfolio to in the future – the work needs to impress and be memorable.

The Goal
Your goal is to highlight your creative thinking, research skills and practical ability by showing the design world how the format can be used, applied, manipulated and pushed in ways never thought of or seen before. It’s about showing off your skills and producing the best piece of work you have ever made.
